You're In The Army Now was written in 1917 by Isham Jones. The popular World War I song appears in the 1936 Popeye short I'm In The Army Now. The song is also used in several other films including The Dirty Dozen and Rio Grande. Jones wrote numerous popular songs in the 1920's and 1930's, such as It Had To Be You and The One I Love (Belongs To Somebody Else).
