In the 1920's and 1930's, animation pioneer and inventor Max Fleischer was at the forefront of America's popular music. His determination to apply sound to his animation brought about the first music videos. Much of the music featured in these theatrical shorts are popular standards today, and many legendary and influential musicians were introduced to the greater public through the reach of Fleischer's films. Fleischer Allstars explores the music, the musicians and the spirit of the roaring 20's and 30's through the films and music of Max Fleischer.
