MY GAL SAL (SCREEN SONGS) 1930
|

Singer and songwriter Richard Dresser wrote My Gal Sal around the turn of the century, and the song was published just before his death in 1906. The song was featured in a 1930 Screen Songs "follow the bouncing ball" short. Later, in 1942, a musical based on Dresser's life was released, the film starring Rita Heyworth was titled My Gal Sal.
