Joan Alexander was the voice of Lois Lane from 1940-1951. Superman debuted as a radio series in 1940, just after first appearing in a 1938 comic book. Alexander first appeared as Lois Lane in the seventh episode, and she voiced the role the entire run of the radio series - on more than 1,600 episodes. Alexander also portrayed Lois Lane on all 9 episodes of Max Fleischer's Superman cartoon series in 1941 and 1942, and she continued the role on the following 8 Famous Studios episodes that ran until 1943.
