School Days is a popular 1907 song written by vaudevillian songwriter Gus Edwards and Will D. Cobb. The song was used as the plot and title of a 1932 installment of Fleischer's Screen Songs series. In the film, Gus Edwards appears in the live-action segment as the school teacher, and his song is sung by the school children with The Bouncing Ball. In his Vaudeville acts, Edwards was known to feature amateur performers showing off their talents. Among those he has claimed to have "discovered" are singer Eddie Cantor and legendary comic icons the Marx Brothers.
