Jack Denny was the leader of a successful high society orchestra in the 1930's and 1940's. The US born bandleader started his career in Quebec, Canada in 1920, By the mid- 1920's he was producing hit records with his unique sans-brass orchestra. His career suffered after his headlining residency at New York's magnificent luxury Waldorf Astoria Hotel was being upstaged by the attention opening act Xavier Cugat was receiving. The management at the hotel had refused Denny's demands to change the program, and he lived up to his threats to quit. After quitting in 1931, Cugat and his percussion-driven latin sound took over as the house band at the renown hotel, beginning a legendary 16 year residency. In 1937, Jack Denny and His Orchestra appeared in the Max Fleischer Screen Songs installment for I Feel Like A Feather In The Breeze.
