The 1936 short Christmas Comes But Once A Year was released as part of Fleischer's Color Classics series. The classic theatrical holiday cartoon features Grampy from the Betty Boop series in his only appearance on film without Betty. The films title song was composed for the film by Sammy Timberg with lyricist Bob Rothberg. The song was re-written with a New Year's twist for the 1936 Popeye short Let's Celebrake, where it is sung by Popeye and Bluto.
