Ha-Cha-Nan (The Daughter of San) was recorded in 1935 by The Hoosier Hot Shots. The group was a comedic jazz ensemble that started as a Indiana-based Vaudeville act in the 1930's. The Hooser Hot Shots went on to make numerous recordings, and appeared in many TV's and movies until the 1980 death of their washboard player Hezzie Trietsch. The group's recording of Ha-Cha-Nan appears at the end of the 1936 Betty Boop short A Song A Day, where it is wildly danced by Betty, Grampy and a bunch of animals.
