Boy Oh Boy was written for Mr. Bug Goes Goes To Town, it was composed by Sammy Timberg with lyricist Frank Loesser. Most of the movies soundtrack was composed by Timberg, Loesser and Tin Pan Alley's celebrated songwriter Hoagy Carmichael. The 1941 move was billed as "The Screen's First Full-Length Musical Comedy Cartoon." It was also the first cartoon feature that was set in present time, and it was the first cartoon feature to credit the voice actors on-screen.
