Poor Cinderella is a short number from Fleischer Studio's 1934 Betty Boop film Poor Cinderella. The song is sung by Bonnie Poe as Cinderella, and it is sung again during the ball scene by Eddie Cantor in a cameo appearance. This is Fleischer Studio's first color cartoon, and the only Betty Boop cartoon presented in color - and yes, Betty's hair is tinted red. The song was composed by Charles Tobias, Murray Mencher and Jack School. Tobias and Mencher are best known for composing Merrily We Roll Along - the Merry Melodies theme song - along with Eddie Cantor.

POOR CINDERELLA
I'm just a poor Cinderella;
Nobody loves me, it seems.
I'm just a poor Cinderella,
So I find my romance in dreams.
That's where I met my Prince Charming:
When I'm with him, cares fade away.
I'm just a poor Cinderella,
But I'll be a princess some day.
I'm just a poor Cinderella;
Nobody loves me, it seems.
I'm just a poor Cinderella,
So I find my romance in dreams.
That's where I met my Prince Charming:
When I'm with him, cares fade away.
I'm just a poor Cinderella,
But I'll be a princess some day.
