SOME OF THESE DAYS - EDDIE PEABODY (sung by the spider)
WISE FLIES (TALKARTOONS) 1930 Some Of These Days was written in 1910 by ragtime hitmaker Shelton Brooks. The Canadian-born African-American composer was a well-known vaudevillian, and he wrote some of the biggest hits of the early 1900's. Some Of These Days was his first hit song, and the jazz standard became a signature song for Sophie Tucker - one of the first to record it. She recorded the song for the first time in 1911, and she re-recorded the song numerous times later. She also performed the song in several movies, including in the 1929 film Honky Tonk. In 1930, the song was featured in the Fleischer Talkertoon short Wise Flies, where it is sung by a villainous spider. In the classic animated short, a 1929 recording of Eddie Peabody is used. Peabody was a vaudeville star and instrument developer, and at the time he was the most famous banjo player in America. The song continues to be performed and recorded by many, and appears has appeared prominently in movies and television. Cab Calloway's 1930 recording of the song appears in the 1980 cult classic Forbidden Zone, where it is lip synced by Oingo Boingo's Gene Cunningham

SOME OF THESE DAYS
Some of these days
You'll miss your honey
Some of these days
You'll feel so lonely
You'll miss my hugging
You'll miss my kisses
You'll miss me, honey
When you go away
I feel so lonely
Just for you only
For you know, honey
You've had your way
And when you leave me
I know you'll grieve me
You'll miss your little honey
Some of these days
Some of these days
You'll miss your honey
Some of these days
You'll feel so lonely
You'll miss my hugging
You'll miss my kisses
You'll miss me, honey
When you go away
I feel so lonely
Just for you only
For you know, honey
You've had your way
And when you leave me
I know you'll grieve me
You'll miss your little honey
Some of these days
